ICE increasing raids on illegal immigrants across North Carolina

As cities increasingly withdraw from agreements to help U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement identify illegal immigrants, the federal law enforcement agency is stepping up its raids across the state.

About a dozen undocumented workers were arrested Wednesday morning in Charlotte, according to an advocacy group called Communidad Collectiva. That comes after a raid in Sanford.

Charlotte withdrew from the 287(g) program last year after a new Democrat sheriff was elected.
